About Us
Tri-City Trucks (NSW) Pty Ltd was first established in 1974 as Tri-City Truck & Tractor. The business started with International Harvester as its sole franchise which has now become Iveco Trucks Australia Ltd, the commercial trucking arm of automotive giant Fiat.
Tri-City Trucks has always been and still is a family owned business with Michael Gerace as the Dealer Principal, his brother Ralph overseeing the panel repairs shop, and their brother-in law Nick Papallo in administration. The family has been running the business since 1994. During this time they have moved twice as the business has grown out of each location. They continue to support the Macarthur region by employing staff from the local community, in recent year’s staff numbers have grown to 65.
Much has changed over the past 35 years at Tri-City Trucks. In addition to the three main truck franchises (Fuso, Iveco and International), Tri-City Trucks has expanded their business into the earthmoving machinery field. With the addition of four new franchises, New Holland Construction, Kobelco, Boxer and NorAm over the past 4 years. Tri-City Trucks has now been able to service an entirely new market. The business had originally serviced the needs of the transport and farming communities of the Macarthur Region, now they provide customers with a one-stop-shop, with truck & machinery sales, finance, spare parts, service & repairs.
Throughout this expansion over the past decade, factors such as customer support, a comprehensive parts and accessories department and a state of the art workshop facility has always been a firm commitment. In 2005 Tri-City Trucks acknowledged that new premises would be a necessity in order to continue to support the needs of their customers. With this decision plans were put into place to construct an 8.5 acre facility capable of addressing these needs. The new dealership would be located in Smeaton Grange and commenced operation in January 2007.
The new premises are state of the art. Two 30 metre drive-through service bays allow large B- Double trucks to stroll right through without unhitching their trailers. Also massive 48 tonne excavators can easily be serviced or repaired on the site. Our parts department stocks parts to suit North American, Japanese and European trucks & earthmoving equipment as well as many trailer parts. Parts and accessories inventory is in excess of $2,500,000 and covers an area of 1200m2.
Tri-City Trucks now has an extended hours of operation in the Parts & Service departments other services offered by us are, public weighbridge, RTA inspections, wheel alignments, drive-through truck & trailer wash, truck and trailer smash repairs. We are now able to provide a total care package for all trucks and trailers. Also drivers can relax, sleep or cook up a meal in our driver’s comfort rooms, whilst their truck and trailer is being serviced.
Used trucks & machinery have always been an integral part of the business with about 60-70 trucks or machines in stock at any given time. These are passed through our workshop for any repairs and maintenance, and then go to our body shop ensure that they are ready to work for the prospective customer.
The future of trucks and machinery in South Western Sydney is in good hands with this state of the art facility and the friendly staff ready to take care of all their customers need.
